The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Your Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
